Hubris Productions is comprised of friends from various parts of the country who found each other and decided there was no better place to make an artistic home than in Chicago.  Hubris chooses to present plays that speak to us, move us, or amuse us, in the belief they will touch a chord with our audience as well.

You may be asking yourself...

Where did they come up with that name?  What's the deal?  Isn't hubris supposed to be a bad thing?  Well, yes and no.  Most of the theatre people we've known over the years are a rather insecure lot...but at the same time, you really have to be possessed of some degree of arrogance to go putting yourself on a stage and saying "look at me!''  The truth is, we were in a bookstore one day when we overheard someone using this word erroneously, loudly, annoyingly...excessively.  We're pretty sure this person had consulted a word-a-day calendar before leaving the house, and was, well, showing off.  Plus, we're just full of it ourselves.
