Lorraine Freund (New
Works Coordinator)
Lorraine entered the theatre dancing, when she was selected for the chorus of
Michael Maggio's production of Candide at the Antheneum Theatre in the
70s. Some of her fellow cast members suggested she audition at Old Town
Players, and that led to a variety of roles there, at Court Theatre, Wisdom
Bridge and other Chicago theatres. In the 80s, she took a long hiatus from
the theatre to focus on marriage and family. In the late 90s, with the
children entering the self-sufficiency stage, she returned to theatre. She has
appeared in productions at St. Sebastian Players, Piccolo Theatre, National
Pastime, Victory Gardens Greenhouse, Village Players, Steppenwolf Garage, Live
Bait, Bailiwick, Victory Gardens and Raven Theatre. In early 2009 she
played multiple roles in Red Noses with Hubris, and Lorraine now is
happy to call this company home.
